Cherry Tree Nursery Christmas Appeal 2020

Christmas will be soon upon us and we will have to improvise and adapt the way we celebrate.

This year it will be even more important to ensure we do celebrate together even if those celebrations have to be held over several days rather than one mass gathering. We know many of our Volunteers find Christmas very difficult as it seems to highlight feelings of isolation and loneliness and the worries around Covid-19 will add to the stresses and strains of the season.

Our traditional Christmas party is not going to be possible in the usual format due to the huge numbers that attend, but we have come up with another way to ensure all of our Volunteers have festive treats and presents.

Currently we have volunteers on site in ‘bubbles’ in separate groups in the morning and afternoon on Tuesdays to Fridays.

Our plan is to provide volunteers with a socially distanced, covid secure, Christmas celebration at the Nursery. This would take place week commencing 14th December over four days from Tuesday to Friday.

Of course, all this has a cost to it so we are looking for funding to ensure we can make it happen and give our volunteers something to look forward to.
