Tall perennial with large aromatic leaves, grown for its tall spikes of glorious purple-blue flowers with black bases, borne on nearly black stems over a long period from late summer to late autumn. Ideal for a sunny sheltered spot at the back of a border. Attractive to birds and butterflies. Deer resistant.
