Striking exotic large evergreen palm-like perennial with massive bright green leathery leaves up to 3 ft long. Drooping pale yellow flowers in summer are followed by inedible banana-like greenish-red fruits. An interesting sculptural plant to give a tropical feel to your garden. It needs a sheltered sunny site. Wrap leaves in cold winters.
