Small deciduous clump-forming perennial with spiny-toothed leaflets, flushed red when young, turning red and reddish brown in autumn, and remaining throughout the winter, grown for its crimson and pale yellow flowers in mid and late spring. Ideal for ground cover under shrubs and trees, a border or rock garden.
